These pages indicate the detection times of recent earthquakes, as recorded by the Elfrad Group D'Entrecasteaux Islands 08/14/00 22:11:19.7UT 9.4S 153.7E Depth= 33 Km M= 6.0
This graph shows the electrical precursor and seismic activity, before and during this earthquake, that occurred in the D'Entrecasteaux, Islands , which are located 13,783 kilometers distant. Note the precursor activity which began at 20:10:10.9 UT. These ULF electrical signals were detected 121 minutes prior to the earthquake and and were low to moderate in amplitude. This is largely due to the distance. The above graph shows data recorded for a duration of 4 hours before and during the event. Note the increase of activity in the frequency band of .02 to .04 hertz. until and during the first shock. The graph below was detected and recorded in Australia, by Arie Verveer, a PSN and Elfrad Group member. The screen shot indicates a precursor 78 minutes prior to the D'Entrecasteaux event. The device used to record this data is an electromagnetic detector which was built by him last week. The sensitivity is comparable to a fluxgate magnetometer. Note the large shift of the magnetic field before the precursor detection.
